Chapter Four

Jake

Jake couldn’t help enjoy the stunned look on Eben’s face. It wasn’t often he could say something that shook the older man’s cold, collected exterior.

“Is that something you want?” Eben spluttered out.

“I’m just asking.” Jake said with forced aloofness. He’d never mentioned knotting when he’d thought Eben was human, because he knew humans weren’t capable of it, and he hadn’t wanted to insult Eben’s masculinity. But truthfully, the intimacy of being locked together was everything Jake craved.

“I mean, if you wanted—if you trusted me enough...” The way Eben’s fingers tightened on Jake’s thigh gave him all the answer he needed. Not only could Eben knot, he was achingly eager to do it.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Jake said, though inside he shook with desire. He licked his lips and rolled onto his side, intending to go back to sleep, but clearly Eben had thought he was rolling over to offer an invitation. Jake couldn’t bring himself to correct Eben’s mistake. His body still hummed with so much arousal that he was unable to tell Eben to stop as he slid his hands under the robe to grope Jake’s ass.

“I think you’ve gotten rounder here too,” Eben groaned into Jake’s ear as he fondled his cheeks. Jake bit his lip as Eben’s cock rubbed against his tingling skin, leaving thick beads of pre-cum.

He sighed. Why couldn’t the rest of their relationship be as easy as this? How could sex erupt so naturally between them when every other kind of intimacy was such a struggle?

“Do you want me to?” Eben murmured into his ear. It took Jake a moment to remember what Eben was talking about, but when he realized he was asking Jake if he wanted to be knotted, his insides lit up with hot fire of desire. He swallowed, forcing himself to say the words he knew he had to.

“No,” he choked out. “Not now.”

Eben let out a groan that sounded of pure agony, and Jake was sure the dragon inside him was roaring too. As much as he wanted to feel Eben stretch him to the brink, he knew he couldn’t give into his desire for physical intimacy until his need for emotional intimacy had been satisfied.

Eben gripped Jake’s shoulders as he finished inside him, but it was clear that they were both far from satisfied. Jake sighed, and Eben rolled over, as if he didn’t want to show Jake his frustration, but it radiated off him. Jake knew he shouldn’t have brought up the knotting until knew he wanted it. Knotting was a huge symbol of trust and commitment, and Jake wasn’t sure if he and Eben were there yet.

He wanted Eben to be in his daughter’s life.
