I take one of the last seats available. Everyone is looking pretty roughed up. I’m glad that Amber was able to get me out of there early. I could have handled myself easily, but now I’d have an excuse about how I didn’t even have a black eye.

Lord is pacing in front of the “congregation” angrily. “Firstly, I don’t blame anyone for how shit went down tonight. I know people here have a history with the Twisted Kings, and everyone had their reasons. All of that aside, I don’t expect anyone to just eat shit from other mc’s to preserve the peace, and the Twisted Kings have been shoveling a lot of shit.”

Lord pulls up a chair and continues, looking a little less worked up. “Good news is sparse so I’ll start with that. We held our own, I didn’t see anyone pulling anything that will hurt our rep tonight and I’m proud to say that. We also made sure to make sure we look clean so we got out with only one arrest.” He leans forward and pinches the bridge of his nose. “That is where the bad news starts. Chisel had to be pulled out on a stretcher, and they aren’t sure if he is going to make it. Enough people at Throttle could pin the damage on Chains that the pigs led him out in bracelets. They haven’t charged him yet but it ain’t looking good.”

There is a general rousing of frustration and anger from the crowd. The worst part for most of the club members is they know that their usual answer of kicking ass is what got them into this mess, to begin with, so it isn’t likely going to work to get them out.

Lord puts his hands up to gesture for the rowdy bikers to calm and quiet down. “I’ve spoken to the club lawyer, Eva Marie, and she is going to do everything she can to help Chains. Right now we need to prioritize helping Chains, and that means two things.” He holds up two fingers to emphasize. “One, if you got any lines out right now you need to pull them in. Anything that is making money, legal or not, sort it out. We need all the resources we can get because this might get long and complicated. Two, and this goes back to one, keep your shit clean. Lay low and don’t give any pig any excuse to fuck with us. The cops in this town have a hard-on for the Saints right now and they will not hesitate to trump up a charge if they even smell the opportunity.”

He stands back up, bringing himself to full height in front of the group. Lord doesn’t need intimidation to inspire loyalty, but we appreciate the show all the same. “This is not the time to fuck around. Do I make myself absolutely clear?” A generally affirmative chorus came up from the crowd as people split away to make the necessary phone calls and arrangements.
