CH:12 It Had To Be You

I became suspicious of everything. I never knew Irvin like I thought I did. He had more secrets then secret service themselves. I quickly placed the letters and the photos back inside the box just as I found them. I put everything back inside the bag and picked it up with both hands. I could barely get it back up on the shelf but it was either that or I was going to be caught.

How could he have hidden that he had a child. Who would want to keep that away. He completely omitted everything. He used to tell me that one day we would have children of our own. He said I was going to be his first and his only mother of his children. How stupid was I to believe that. Things were starting to really crumble down before my eyes. There was no way that I could stay with him.

Three hours later Irvin came home early to surprise me. It was 5'oclock that evening. He brought me a beautiful dozen of white roses. Those were my favorite because those were set apart from the rest. They were white and that color represents purity. Something untouched, Something that has no wrong and a new beginning are what those stood for in my eyes. I looked at him and I smiled. I kissed his lips and he pulled me tight.

I grabbed the remote and decided to turn it on the local 5'oclock news. Breaking news is all that I saw flashing across the screen. The headline read" Ex Boyfriend Of Slain Expecting Mother Found Dead". My eyes immediately bulged out of my head because I knew that there was something freaky going on. The news caster went on to say that it was definitely a homicide and a investigation is underway. The man's name was Cory. He was found shot with a 9mm pistol.

When I glanced over at Irvin he shrugged his shoulders. He got up and immediately went into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of sweet tea. Irvin didn't even drink tea so that raised an eyebrow for me. I wasn't obvious about it but I darn sure paid attention. I knew then that Irvin had something to do with that man's murder. He either killed that man or he knew something about it. After finding out all his secrets I became terrified and afraid. Who knew what else that he would lie about.

I went into the bathroom and decided that I would take a bubble bath. I was due for a moment of relaxation. Besides, I needed to get away from him because he kept following me around the house. He was acting very clingy and looking into my face. It was like he could read all over me that I knew something. I started becoming paranoid and looked all around the bathroom. I wondered if he had planted cameras in the tile to watch me.

I kept hearing weird noises in the living room.
