Krista swiftly swam over to a small waterfall at the far corner of the pool. The water spilled over from an upper-level fountain that fed into the main swimming pool. Grabbing Travis’s hand she dove beneath the water and surfaced behind the cascade. Barely enough room for two people, it was the perfect hiding spot.

“We can stay here for a while,” she said over the hiss and gurgle of the water.

“Can you stand?” Travis asked.

Krista shook her head while treading water. The depth was over her five-foot-three-inch height.

“Well, then hang on to me,” he said into her ear.

Krista wrapped her arms around his neck. “Sorry, it sucks to be short.”

“I’m not complaining,” he answered close to her ear.

Neither was she. She had to admit that it felt good to be in his arms. Sunlight shimmered through the cascading water but the shaded little cocoon provided welcome relief from the tropical heat. Water lapped against them, causing Krista to sway sensuously against Travis. “Sorry.”

“I’m still not complaining.”

“We shouldn’t have to—” she began just as he turned his head to say something. Her mouth grazed across the rough stubble on his cheek and then brushed against the contrasting softness of his mouth.

“Sorry,” he said gruffly.

“I’m not complaining,” she said with a shy smile.

He grinned back. Water made his lashes spiky and his wet hair curled over his ears. His grin faded and he looked into her eyes. “Kiss me, Krista.”

Krista somehow knew that kissing this cowboy again would send her over the edge of reason and yet she couldn’t help herself. Wrapping her legs around his waist, she dipped her head and pressed her lips to his, intending a soft, sweet kiss, but the touch of his tongue to hers sent a jolt of white-hot desire through her veins that had her wanting much more. With a little moan Krista opened her mouth and kissed him deeply.

His lips were soft and yet firm and his mouth was hot and hungry. Threading her fingers through his wet hair, Krista melted against him, loving the feel of her barely covered breasts pressed to the firmness of his chest. The water lapped over her shoulders, sliding over her oil-covered skin. Travis licked her bottom lip and then moved his mouth to her neck where he kissed and nibbled until Krista arched her back, offering him more bare skin.

“God…Krista.” With his teeth he tugged on the bow tied around her neck and her breasts tumbled free. Scooting her up higher on his waist, Travis braced her back with his hands and then watched the spray from the waterfall sluice over her bare breasts. He licked one breast and then the other before taking one nipple into his mouth, where he teased it with the tip of his tongue. God, how he wanted Krista completely naked so he could taste her everywhere and then bury himself deep. But he reminded himself that although they were hidden from view, they were in a public place and could conceivably be caught any moment now.
