The city is quiet tonight. I never thought I'd say that about New York. My new apartment has a rooftop garden, so I went up there after work today with my guitar, so I could watch the sun set. I couldn't bring myself to leave once it was down. It's the first time I've been able to appreciate the stars since I moved here, and though all the constellations are in different places, they're still beautiful, so grand and peaceful winking at us from so far away. I think I'll make it a plan for this summer to come up here every night, even if it's only for a few minutes. I could use the reminder of how small we really are in the scheme of things.
