Shelly: Dinner

I was worried about Bishop and Wolf.

Stone calling Church could mean one of two things: big news or he was about to fuck up the MC. I had a nagging feeling that it was the latter.

My brain kept wondering what Bishop was up to, and as I thought about him, my heart skipped a beat.

I shook my head. No sense in getting butterflies in my stomach right now.

But I did like Bishop. We were close, even though there was some tension there. I knew he liked me, and honestly, when I saw him stare at me, it made my heart race.

But I knew he was nervous about pursuing me. Not because it was bad or anything, but our age difference.

Bishop was older, more mature, and had years of experience. He still regarded me as a dumb kid, even though I was old enough to drink. It annoyed me, especially because of how I thought of him when I was all alone at night in bed.

Would he be rough? Or would he be gentle and sweet? I fantasized about all kinds of things with him. I wanted him, and I knew he probably picked up on it, but I wasn’t sure if he felt the same way.

The problem, too, was that Bishop was my brother’s best friend. It wasn’t like Wolf, and he was distant. No, they were super close.

If I told them about my feelings, I’m sure Wolf would tell me to back the fuck off. I knew Bishop wasn’t necessarily the safest guy to fall for, but man, it was so hard not to think about him.

When I was alone, I did think about us together, not just sexually but romantically. It would be sweet. I’ve tried talking to Bishop before about having a girlfriend, but I could tell he wasn’t interested. Perhaps it was because of the unsolved mystery of his dad, or maybe he just didn’t do the whole talking about his feelings shit.

Either way, I wished he’d open up to me, but it wasn’t the end of the world if he didn’t.

Still, I pined for the day he would finally tell me everything, the day I could finally admit my crush. I wanted nothing more than to scream it to the high heavens and let him know.

I wanted to hope.

I started to put some noodles in a pot. I knew making some alfredo with extra chicken would cheer up Bishop.

That was his favorite food. It wasn’t anything big or impressive, but a simple dish would light up his eyes. I always felt good doing this for him, and honestly, being able to make him happy just … felt right, you know? As I finished with the noodles, I started on the sauce, which was considered a “signature sauce” from Bishop himself.

Thinking about the compliments he gave me, the appreciation in his voice whenever I fed him, it made me feel good. Honestly, I never thought to be the type that would want to take care of someone like this, but it was Bishop.
