The tour went well, how could it not? Sergio knew he had hit off with Akemi at Mitchell and Marc’s party. He wasn’t embarrassed or ashamed, and luckily, neither was Akemi. In fact, he walked right up to Serge and said, “Thanks for the party; I wish all my visits started so well.” Serge was actually thinking of how to ask Akemi to go out with him for drinks, but he needed to figure out how to ask in a professional way so Mitchell wouldn’t get mad. If they ended up at his place, naked, Mitchell didn’t need to know. Leaning back in his chair at the nurse’s station, he was just swaying back and forth, daydreaming about the visiting doctor. Twirling a pen on his thigh, he wasn’t really paying attention until he looked up to see Akemi leaning over the counter. The look of hunger was unmistakable.
“Drinks later? Wanna show me the town? We can talk about the range of surgeries you’ve performed so it seems like we’re working.” Akemi did want to see the gay nightlife in London, but there was more to it. Leaning over the counter, grabbing a pen from the cup next to Sergio’s head, he whispered into his ear in a very breathy voice, “But if we end up in my hotel room naked, that’s a different story.” He smiled and walked away.
Damn this guy. He was making him want him right now and at work. Mitchell would be soooo mad if he did. All he could think of was his breath on his skin as he watched Akemi walk down the hallway. He was smart, funny, sexy, outgoing, straightforward… was Serge making a list of his qualities? That wasn’t what you were supposed you do with a fling. He had to drop it and just have fun playing.
“Serge, are you listening to me?” Mitchell had been standing there talking to him for a few minutes, but Sergio wasn’t listening. He was distracted by the rhythm of Akemi’s feet on the floor.
“I’m sorry, Mitchell. What were you saying?” He put his pen down and turned the chair toward Mitchell.
“I was telling you that I called my parents last night to tell them about marrying Marc.”
His eyes widened as Mitchell talked. He never talked about his parents. Serge had never met them, and honestly he wasn’t even sure where they lived, Michigan or something? “What did they say?”
“My mom said my dad wasn’t home, but I know she was lying. When I told her I had asked Marc to marry me, she said, ‘Can you do that in England?’ to which I wanted to say, ‘What, Mom, love someone? Yes, you can.’ But instead I just explained the legality of it wasn’t really the point; we wanted to have the ceremony.”
“Wow, Mitchell. Was Marc around when you called?” Knowing Mitchell, he was sitting home by himself, as if he didn’t have friends that would have sat there and just held his hand if he needed it or at the very least had a drink with him afterward.
