And there are no humans with whom I’d rather celebrate this book’s publication than the ones who are there for me everyday, in all possible ways, the loves of my life: my wife Nora—without whom I would be a little more than a puddle, dirty and cold, shivering in the abject solitude of a pothole—my stepdaughter Ciel and my son Dashiell.
