Chapter 7

The night had been rough for Violet, even though she had been in the bed with Rafi, she had a million things rolling through her mind. Ever since she’d told him about the pregnancy he’d been by her side. He’d promised that he’d do anything for her and the baby. Exactly what did that entail she wondered.

When she woke up Rafi was entering the room with food from the breakfast bar downstairs. He had eggs, bacon, and extra toast on two plates as well as a cup of coffee and some orange juice. He placed the food on the little table by the window so that they could sit and eat breakfast.

“Come and get it before it gets cold.” He said to Violet motioning to one of the chairs at the table.

Violet rose from the bed still wearing the tee shirt and boxers that he’d loaned her while he was washing her clothes when they’d first arrived. His eyes grazed over the site of her in his clothes. He loved the way she looked wearing his clothes. When she sat down at the table he waited for her to start eating before he started.

“So, after last night’s debacle I wanted to first say a few things that I haven’t had a real chance to say.” He paused sipping his coffee. Violet nodded allowing him to continue. “First, I would like for you to come and live with me. Before you say yes or no, let me lay it all out for you. If you want to quit your job that’s fine with me, I make enough to support the three of us, if you want to continue to work I won’t tell you that you can’t. If you don’t want to stay in the same room at first, or ever I’ve got an extra room for you to stay in, as well as a separate room for the baby.” He takes her hand in his to show her how much he’s come to care for her over the weeks.

“But, we hardly know each other.” Violet responds to Rafi’s suggestion. “We barely knew each other when we had sex. I learned more about you last night than I knew when we slept together. That’s not the kind of person I am, I’m the kind of person that....” She looks up at him nibbling on her lower lip. “I don’t know what kind of person I am. I’ve never been in a real relationship.” She shrugged her shoulders.

“What would you like to know about me?” He rubs his thumb across her knuckles. “Would you like to know that you’re the only woman that’s ever driven me so crazy that I forgot to glove up during sex? Or the fact that I even craved sex with you without knowing anything about you?” He’s looking into her eyes scooting closer to her.

“Yeah, but all that’s hormones. I hadn’t had sex in years, and something with you drove me crazy that my hormones kicked in blinding me from all of my insecurities.
