Chapter 15
Jettâs voice came over Stoneâs earpiece as heâd been walking through the main room of the casino. âWe have a problem at entrance one.â
Door one was nearby, so Stone took the call. âOn my way, Jett.â Then he keyed into the technicians on the cameras. âAre eyes on the situation?â
This wouldnât be a question heâd need to ask in a few months, but as the casino had only been open a few weeks, they still had some glitches in the system, so he wanted to be sure all was working.
âAll cameras are working,â Tori, one of the more experienced techs, answered.
Stone groaned the moment he was able to see the problem Jett had called in. The three men who had been banned from the premises opening night were back. Not only were they back, but they also had five others with them. Their expressions promised trouble.
âBuck, Crow, get your asses down here and bring whoever you can spare.â Stone could handle this on his own, if he had to, but to keep himself and Jett safe, heâd have to use far more force and those men yelling at Jett would have more than a couple of bruises from being tossed out on their ears.
He scanned the unruly bunch and saw several guns tucked into their waistbands. Since weapons were illegal on the casinoâs property, he called back to Tori. âAlso, Tori, call the police and warn them we have armed men on the premises making a scene, three of which have been banned from here already.â
âOn it.â
Even as he scrutinized the men for any other weapons, Stone hadnât missed the way Jett seemed to be shaking where he stood. The kid was doing his best to hide it, but it was obvious that he was terrified. Stone was actually impressed the kid hadnât pissed his pants, considering he had eight scraggly-looking men glaring at him as he tried to explain he couldnât allow the three gentlemenâStone snorted at that description of the men in questionâinto the casino.
He had no idea why the men werenât just plowing their way inside and ignoring Jettâs protests but he was glad they werenât. It made things a whole lot easier if they werenât inside when they were told to leave.
âJett, did you need something?â Stone asked the question even though he already knew the answer, but he didnât want to start off antagonizing the men by ordering them from the casino. It would only lead to more violence.
Considering the way the men glared at Stone as he faced them, there already was going to be quite a bit of violence. They seemed almost eager for it. Stone didnât need this shit. He had a date with Griffith in a few more minutes, and it wouldnât look good for him to be late.
Jett nodded at Stoneâs question. âYes, sir. These men tried to come inside, but as I explained, the three men here were banned from the property.â Jett pointed at the three in question.
