Chapter 20

Sara

When we pull up to my apartment after dinner, I’m feeling so much better than I did before. I shake my head at Jason smiling. “What?” he questions, giving me his sexy grin.

Instead of answering him, I jump out of his truck and slam the door shut. As he comes around to my side to find me, I’m already gone. “Sara?” he inquires playfully. I toss a snowball at his back and take off around his truck laughing. “Hey,” he laughs. He quickly rolls his own snowball, tossing it at me, getting me in the shoulder.

Throwing another one, I’m able to get him one more time with a snowball right in the center of his chest as he’s jogging directly towards me. I squeal as he tackles me to the ground in a soft snowbank next to the parking lot. “What do you think you’re doing?” he challenges, teasing me.

“Jason,” I shriek as I laugh hysterically, his body pressing me into the snow. I can’t stop laughing.

He grabs a handful of snow and brings it close to my face, taunting me. “I could just rub this in your face and you couldn’t do anything about it. Or, I could put it down your shirt. I bet that would be pretty cold.”

I’m squealing and laughing so hard as his hand gets closer and closer. Wiggling against him, I attempt to get away, at the same time relishing in his proximity. Suddenly, he throws the snow on the ground instead. He mumbles, “Fuck it,” the moment before his lips come crashing down on mine. My laughter is immediately suppressed and I moan into his mouth as he pushes into me. His tongue dives into my mouth and tangles with mine. He tastes of lobster and beer and something I can’t describe, but it’s uniquely him and I love it, wanting more.

I wrap my leg around the back of his to try pulling him closer. He pushes into me in response, causing warmth to spread throughout my whole body. I want him closer. The movement pushes our heads back into the snow and part of the snowdrift falls onto our heads. We both freeze, stunned. Jason starts chuckling against my lips and I follow. He shakes his head just slightly causing snow to go everywhere. He assesses me with a wide grin. He lightly brushes a few clumps of snow off my face, kissing each spot as he goes. He gives me one more kiss on my swollen lips. Then his smile grows as he murmurs, “You look good in white.”

I gasp in surprise. I think my heart stops beating at his insinuation. I can’t even try to open my mouth to respond to him. He jumps up with one leg on each side of me and reaches down for my hands. He swiftly pulls me up and into his arms. Giving me a kiss on the nose before gently dusting off my hair, he grins. “Sorry, I couldn’t help myself,” he claims.
