The next couple of days were the best Rajnish had ever spent. They were certainly the happiest since he’d arrived to the States; the happiest he’d felt in a good while, in fact. Together with Stephen, he enjoyed the view of the falls, visited the tunnels, toured on the Maid of the Mist… they finished the second night with a nice dinner at the Skylon restaurant and returned to their hotel, tired but happy.

There was plenty yet to do and see of course, but already Rajnish had other interests in mind. Stephen had kept faithful to what he’d said, and had not pressured him into anything; they’d held hands, they’d shared hugs, Stephen had even pecked his lips on the way up to dinner; but he hadn’t done more than that and Rajnish had been a little too shy – no, not shy, he’d just felt a bit awkward, really – to try and do something himself.

Which Rajnish realized meant that, if he wanted something to happen before they had to return, he would have to give some sort of a sign that he was willing to try more than just holding hands. Being like this with another man might feel a bit awkward, but it did not feel wrong. In fact, it felt quite nice to be close to Stephen. Now far more relaxed around him, Rajnish had started to see how his companion had seemed to be walking on egg shells most of the time. He couldn’t blame him; he knew he could be a lost cause sometimes. So he decided he would do something...

… Or try to, at least.
