Stone Circles and Doorways

You’ve probably seen lots of stone circles in both the Ramtops and the Chalk, often built from rock quarried many miles away. The travelling teachers told me that most were built by druids, to function as calendars, but there are also the Other Ones – stone circles like The Dancers in the overgrown moorland of Lancre, and the three trilithon markers up on the downlands of the Chalk. They aren’t just decoration. They’re there for the land’s protection. They mark thin areas between worlds, making it easier for guardians to look to these doorways for any sign of trouble. There are many thin areas that haven’t been found and marked yet – some come and go as other worlds briefly press against ours, others are always there as they latch on like ticks.

They may be called The Dancers, but they should NEVER be danced around. You don’t want to draw the attention of them what live in the world beyond!
