racing bottoms&

I’m exposeduncoveredopened

as if on display.When we invite

friends & familyothers’ mothers

others’ fathers to watch

they see usin schoolcolors,

our wins& losses,

our goldenrod swim caps,

but they cannotsee

the wayI sinkmyself

to the bottom of the pool

wheneveryone has left

&

breathing
