Chapter 12

Theseus felt shattered. It was their only way to save their mating, and someone stole it from under them.

A small hand touched Theseus and when he looked down, he saw the worry on Murray’s face. “Theseus, it will be all right. Just give me a second.”

“But it’s gone. What are we going to do?” Theseus asked hoarsely.

Giving a small smile, Murray answered, “Theseus, I told you it is a part of the scroll I remembered well.”

Scrunching his eyes and sticking his tongue out to the side, Murray nodded and finally said, “The stars, moon, and sky are as important to man as they are to the Gods. As we are all living and breathing amongst the world, so shall your mates. If at a point in time, a mate can be found, the world cannot go without. A new shall be born and found in below and brought to the top to see. Three days shall pass, but not the night, or the stars will remain as once was and the mate will cease to be.”

Murray opened his eyes and smiled a big “proud of me” smile.

“Huh, so there is another Taurus out there,” Stephan said softly.

Theseus looked at Stephan anxiously. “Do you think so?”

Shrugging, Stephan said, “Well it seems to me there is at least something that create the constellation. I mean it says, ‘a new shall be born,’ so that says to me that one was decided when you two mated.”

“So it’s a baby?” Micah asked.

“Not necessarily,” Hercules said.

Theseus turned to his friend. “What do you mean? It says a new shall be born. That says to me that it has just been made.”

“I don’t think so. I mean, Zeus would know that humans have been studying the stars for centuries. I really doubt that he would put a child in the sky,” Apollo said thoughtfully.

“Okay, so it would be a full grown man or bull or something? Another shifter maybe?” Taurus asked.

“Shit, even with the damn words, we are no closer than we were in figuring this out,” Theseus said gruffly.

“Uh, I think you are,” a soft voice said from the doorway.

Everyone turned to see Persephone standing there.

“Sis, is everything all right?” Hercules asked as he walked to his clearly distraught sister.

Nodding, Persephone looked at Taurus and Theseus with tears in her eyes. “I think I might know who the new Taurus is for the skies.”

Theseus became anxious as he rushed to Persephone and grasped her shoulders. “Who? Who do you think he is and where is he?”

“Calm down, babe. Clearly Persephone is upset,” Taurus said as he gently wiped the tear that began to roll down her cheek.

“What is it? What has you so upset, Persephone?” Taurus asked gently.

Stepping back, Persephone spoke softly. So softly that it took Taurus’s shifter hearing to catch the beginning. “I brought in a witch to get the scroll information when I heard Theseus and Hephaestus talking about Taurus being his mate. I knew this day would come, but I didn’t want to give up my pet.
