CHAPTER

Harry or better still, William Bitterman as he loved to think of himself since Friday night, took a long drag of the white powdery substance that was neatly spread out on the coffee table by his bedside, and closed his eyes. It was his favorite stimulant whenever he was preparing to hit hard on the street. And from the way he was feeling tonight, seemed like he was ready to make a fresh statement known to the public.
He'd planned to stay silent for a little while until the manhunt cools off, but with the way he felt tonight, seemed very unlikely. He was sex starved, and the psychopathic part of his brain was urging him. He couldn't bear the thought of losing the front pages of the tabloids, and the only way to go, was to have the nosy press well fed. The more killings he made, the more he would have the lead stories. He was suddenly obsessed with the stories he saw on the papers and wanted it never to end.
He took another long drag, and his eyes suddenly became too small for his handsome face. He fumbled up to his feet, stretched out his muscles, and exhaled. He knew he had to fix someone right away, but then, who was that someone?
He thought about the receptionist downstairs in the lobby, but quickly decided against it. He got dressed in an overcoat, shove his Glock at the back of his jeans, and caressed his long hair. Someone had just crossed his mind. He was excited about it. He finally had a scene for tonight's movie. His duffel was in the Chevy, and everything he needed for tonight's operation was right in there. He took one last drag of cocaine, and was suddenly in a different realm. He knew he needed to cover his tracks, and if he must do it, then it had to be tonight. There was no other time. He knew now who victim Number 4 was, and he felt sorry about it.
The Chevy truck screeched to a stop three blocks away from the beauty shop on Main Street, just as the shop owner, Regina Brooks, was closing for the night. She was in a white sleeveless, knee-length dress, with a brown choker, stylishly worn around her short neck. She was no doubt an attractive plump woman with exceptional taste for style, and with her richly styled short, golden hair and loud facial makeup, one could easily tell she had once lived a carefree life in her youth. She had delicate, high cheek bones, pierced nose with silver ring, and thinning lips. She was a rock star in her own fashion, and as she stepped out of her shop, Harry felt that familiar chill go through him. It was the very same feeling he gets each time he was about to kill someone. I had no plan to take her life... He said in his heart.
He watched her lock the front double-doors of her shop, and he stole a quick glance at the other closed shops.
