Your friends are most often going to have a bias toward your creativity. Most of the time, groups of people dress somewhat the same, talk the same, and like the same things. But creativity is rarely birthed from doing the âsame.â The creator of Red Bull got his idea on a work trip to a completely different country, so your next great idea could be by hanging out with some new people.
BENEFIT #3: MAKE BETTER DECISIONS.
Having people around us who are able to see situations from many different angles helps us to get a more complete and clearer picture from which we can make more-informed decisions.
Also, your friends already know you so well, and you know them well. When we spend a lot of time with people, we grow to assume that they know what we know, so we may contribute less to decision making over time because we âalready know what theyâll say.â As odd as it sounds, people sometimes value strangersâ opinions more, which could ultimately contribute to your decisions about things.
A mentor of mine used to say, âYou are just one connection away from a breakthrough,â so I hope by now, you can understand the value in that statement. Making connections is fun and exciting once you begin to commit to the consistency required to do so, and I canât wait for you to start seeing the benefits.
As we transition into this next chapter, make sure to reflect on the answers to those questions when we started. This next chapter might be my favorite, because itâs almost entirely measurable and, in most instances, costs you nothing but a little time.
