Act 9: Mountain mayhem

Scene 33: High level spell access

Richard walks back to his waiting family as he waves goodbye. The scene jumps to where Richard is sleeping. The camera starts off wide and far, but zooms and moves in closer until the scene is pitch black. After four seconds, the same footsteps as before are heard, now 20% faster than the last dream. The top three symbols are lit on the wall and the barber pole is present.

Richard narrator

That was a memorable moment to me. Every night I go to bed, I look at the memorable student award on my wall. It kind of brings tears of joy to my eyes. As time went on, I was starting to get ready for summer camp only to have another round of the realm just in time.

Richard

The realm is ready, just as I’m heading for summer camp? I guess the mountains one is next. Since I’m extremely overpowered, I could probably just rush this one. That is, no significant need for grinding right away.

The scene fades to black. After four seconds, Richard wakes up. Two seconds later, he looks at his award on the wall for five seconds, then gets out of bed to go to the symbols. He enters the realm then goes to Tristan’s shop, like before. Richard’s equipment returns to him.

Tristan

I know it’s the first day of your summer camp, but there seems to be something going on in the Andrist Mountains region. I’ve been tracing Phil but what I’m seeing and the information I’m getting isn’t making any sense to me. Anyway, in Andrist, I don’t know what the issue is, but the plants seem to be dying all over. Of course, on mountain tops, there won’t be any, but I’m talking in the valleys and by the river. The mountains are huge so it may take a while to explore. Fortunately, Ambesan is close. To help, I’m giving you the float run ability. This ability will allow you to remain suspended above the ground as long as you can get at least 48 m-p-h. You’ll be able to run at your top speed more easily with much less exhaustion.

I don’t see too much use in that.

Tristan

It’s more useful than it appears. If you’re going uphill, you can accelerate faster to make it easier to climb up steep slopes and the mountains have a lot of steep slopes. What’s more is that, if you’re going downhill, you can reach speeds you never thought you could reach. Sure gliding is fast, but you could push nearly double with this under the right conditions. You can also run across water with it! So, between saving energy and being able to climb around quickly, it’s worth it, especially here.

Ah, I can definitely see some good use in that.

Tristan

To use it, just get to at least 48 m-p-h, then swing your arms and legs back. To turn, just tilt your body like a motorcycle. For now,
