“So the Imaging Center had nothing for you,” said Dr. Rosen, looking puzzled. “How strange. Before we go meet Crantz, let’s ask Medical Records to check their unfiled documents, although imaging results are routinely stored in the computer, just like lab results. Come, it’s over there,” said Dr. Rosen, as she walked with determination to the end of the corridor, lowering her chin and squaring her shoulders, which made her look a few inches taller.

There were no documents pending to be filed. While this was being established in the narrow corridor room that held the Oncology Archives, Dr. Rosen was paged to a Tumor Board meeting, which had apparently been scheduled when she was away.

“Damn!” she said. “They should have sent me a memo. Crantz’ll have to wait. Sorry…”

So much for the much-awaited lunch break.
