The whole world fell away when I knelt before him. There was no building full of residents below us, no bustling city outside. There was no anxiety about whether this was right, whether he was mine to have this way. There was just his body glowing in the dark, his hard length throbbing against my soft lips.

Every now and then, I stole a glance at him, and it seemed as if his eyes never strayed from me. Well, me or the mirror, but I suspected the sight of my naked body between his legs was one he’d been looking forward to. I used my hand to add pressure near my lips, sucking him as deep as I could over and over.

“Oh Piper,” he said, his voice deep as he tangled a fist in my hair. “That feels too good.” He groaned like an animal, and I moaned in response, hoping he could sense my enthusiasm.

All night he’d made me feel so beautiful. Even now, he was admiring me like I was supernatural. There was no way I’d ever be able to repay him for that, for looking at me like I deserved every kindness he’d shown me, every moment of his intoxicating attention.

When he swelled against my tongue, my lower body gushed like it was jealous of my mouth.

“You’re going to make me come,” he said, his thighs tensing around me.

I closed my eyes and focused on the way he filled my mouth. And when his hot load poured from him moments later, I kept my promise, swallowing every drop he gave me. When he begged me to stop between gasping breaths, I let him pull me into his lap and straddled him, satisfaction billowing through me as he leaned back in the wide chaise lounge.

“That was…”

I smiled when I realized I’d made him forget his words again. “I’m glad,” I said, leaning forward to offer him a gentle kiss.

“You looked amazing in that dress,” he said. “But first place goes to you on your knees in those diamonds.”

I laughed and swatted his solid chest. “Careful you don’t get too obsessed with the diamonds. You can’t keep ’em, remember?”

“It’s not the diamonds I want to keep,” he said, his dark eyes searching mine.

My heart burst in my chest like a firework, and a thousand sparks lit me from within. Meanwhile, Ash leaned forward, slid his hands under my ass, and carried me across the room. I wrapped my legs around his waist and looked out the window at the city, which was a blur of blue and yellow lights that felt a million miles away from the cozy cocoon of Ash’s arms.

“You asked me to take you to bed,” he said, throwing one corner of his comforter aside so he could lay me against the cool sheets, which were the softest thing I’d ever felt against my skin. “I apologize for the delay.”

“No apology necessary,” I said as he climbed in on top of me and pulled the duvet over us.
