“You’re sorry?”

Lorelei’s face was bright red and her arms were crossed tightly against her chest as she glared at me from across the room. “What in the hell were you thinking?!?” she nearly screamed.

Some of the tension between us seemed to dissipate at this answer. I dared to glance up at her as she sighed and saw that maybe there was a way in.

For a moment, Lorelei looked like she was going to push me away but then seemed to change her mind. She let me put an arm around her and I squeezed her shoulder. “Why did you do that?” she asked quietly.

“I’m really really sorry. I thought… I thought that maybe you and Reg were inside, you know, and then I started feeling like it’d be okay if… it was Shanice who started it. She started asking questions and saying you were alright in there and that it would be fine. I shouldn’t have listened to her. I should have stopped her, I know. I know that now. I should have come to ask for your permission. I’m sorry.”

It sounded pathetic and I felt a little pathetic grovelling like that but it seemed like that’s what the situation required.

It appeared to work. Lorelei unfolded her arms, took a deep breath and her eyes softened. “Yeah. Okay. I can see that.”

Wait, what? “You can?”

“Yeah,” she answered, nodding, her hair bouncing on her shoulders as she did. “We were gone a long time.”

They had been gone a long time. “So, uh, what were you guys doing in there anyways?” I asked with a nervous laugh.

Lorelei bit back a smile in a mischievous way that sent a bolt of panic into my gut. “You know,” she said with a little laugh. “Reg was just… he was trying things out.”

The air seemed to leave my lungs again at her response. Trying things out? “What kind of things, exactly?”

“Well,” Lorelei began, “he fingered me, Jake. He touched my pussy.”

I nearly fell over. My jaw fell open and my eyes bugged out and I stared at Lorelei not quite able to believe that she was telling the truth. “Are you serious?” I whispered.

She bobbed her head up and down in a nod.
