“Who wants a pint?” Harry asks, standing up from the table.

We’re seated at The Queen’s Arms, and he has his eyes set on the bar.

“Pints all around!” Mohammad chants, buzzing from Kensington’s win.

“I’ll take one,” Noah says, leaning back in the booth seat, looking relaxed.

I raise my eyebrows at him in surprise. Because Noah has been very serious about his health lately.

“Just one to celebrate,” he tells us.

“I’ll have one then,” I say, looking at Harry. “But make mine a cider, please.”

“Shitty choice, but noted,” Harry says, shooting me a wink before heading up to the bar.

I remember being told that they serve the boys pints here and that’s why they love this pub. But I didn’t expect for them to get away with it during the day. Maybe at night, when the lights are low and it’s busy, like when I first met Harry here, but not with Noah in a high school football uniform.

“Will he actually get served?” I ask Mohammad, who’s seated across from me.

“Yeah, the owner doesn’t mind,” Mohammad replies, nodding at the man behind the bar. “We’ve been coming here for years, and Harry knows him well.”

“Harry seems to know everyone well,” I comment, watching him laugh with the owner as he places our drink order.

“He does. But he only lets a few people in,” Noah replies.

Harry brings the pints back to the table, two in each hand. His blue eyes are shining, and he’s wearing a grin on his face.

“Three beers and a cider,” he says, setting the glasses on the table.

We each take one in our hands.

“Cheers,” Mohammad says, holding up his glass.

“Congrats again, mate. Honestly, well done,” Harry says, clinking his pint against Noah’s.

“Thanks,” Noah says, flushing as we all toast to him.

I take a sip of the cider, the bubbles tickling my mouth.

“Could this day get any better?” Mohammad asks, soaking in the glory of Noah’s win after he finishes off his first pint.

“Well, I think it might. Aren’t you hoping to meet a fairy godmother tonight? She might make all your wishes come true,” I say with a grin.

“A fairy godmother?” Mohammad asks, looking confused.

“Shit, is Naomi supposed to surprise you with her costume?” I quickly ask. Because if I just gave away the surprise, I’d feel so guilty.

“Not that I know of,” Mohammad replies. “She was going to tell me what she found this morning, but we got sidetracked with the other conversation, and it never came up.”

“What’s she dressing up as?” Harry asks, sitting up to listen like he’s just joining in on the conversation.

“A fairy godmother. You know, like the one in Cinderella. Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo,” I clarify, waving around an invisible wand like she does in the movie.

“That’s a unique idea,” Noah says approvingly.

“It is original,” I admit.

“Cinderella … well, I can be her Prince Charming then,” Mohammad says, trying to piece everything together.

I shake my head.

“No, she’s the fairy godmother for Cinderella. She’s the one who makes it all happen. Arranges the transformation. Turns the pumpkin into a carriage.
