The instant we was together was our first and last. I haven't seen Leanne for about a month or so, I think of her ever so often. It's a hurting feeling, but we must except our fate and put our affair aside.

I pull and park at Chessto's. They have some real good pizza there. The streets are empty. A few sprinkles of drivers here and there, a couple of pedestrians, but nothing like it usually is, always busy. I like driving throughout the city; I seem to forget my uncontrolled household. There aren't too many people in Chessto's tonight and that's good, I'm not in the mood to be around a crowd of folks. I walk to the counter and order.

The girl behind the counter has braces that make her look like she would catch a face cramp trying to talk. The kid pushing the pizza over to her has head phones over his forehead. His hat is tilted sideways and his pants sag a little. I love my people. Be who you are, at any cost. Only know that there is a time and place for everything. I order.

"Let me get a pepperoni and pineapple. Yeah and can I have some meat balls on that too?"

"Ssir how many would you like?" The youth behind the counter says, slirring his words behind every S.

"Let me have two slices and a sweet tea please."

"Ssthat'll be two sslicsess of pepperoni and pineapplss with ssmeatballss and as sskweet tea." She recites my order with the worst lisp I have ever heard. My Lord.
