CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Kashala settled into his seat onboard the chopper, along with the rest of the small party.

“Sit down, Fernsby!” he yelled.

The Prime Minister looked at him with contempt. “You disgust me.”

Crombez slapped his face hard, shocking him back down into his seat. As the red welt marks began to glow on his cheek, the Belgian merc laughed. The man beside him, a big man he’d heard them call Deville, also laughed. “Maybe you show a bit of respect to the General, or next time I won’t be so nice.”

“And he is much nicer than me,” said the other merc, sitting beside him.

“Silence, both of you,” barked Kashala.

“Whatever you think is going to come of all this, you’re wrong,” Fernsby said defiantly. “The Deputy Prime Minister is already running everything. All our nuclear codes will have been changed, and…”

Kashala began chuckling louder and louder, eventually drowning him out completely. “Please, please stop Mr. Fernsby. You are making me laugh too much. Hurting my sides. We are not going to torture your little submarine codes out of you. Please, stop making me laugh.”

“Then why am I here, damn it?”

“You are here to be punished. You and the Belgian bitch stole all my money.”

“If you mean the Belgian Prime Minister, she and I worked together to place personal sanctions on you because of your role in international terrorism. I’m proud of my work.”

“You are proud of taking my money?” Kashala said with a snarl. Beside him, Crombez and Deville sank into their seats, fearing another outburst from their unpredictable leader.

“You are proud of stealing my hard-earned money! Do you know, Mr. Prime Minister, just how hard I had to cheat, steal and murder to get all that money?”

The small contingent of Blood Crew began filling the transport chopper’s cabin with grim laughter.

Kashala continued, “No? Then let me tell you. Very hard. I did more cheating, stealing, and murdering than you can imagine to get that money. I am very proud of myself and all my crew for what we have done, but now you and the woman in Brussels take it all away! You just waltz into my life and take all my money away, like you are entitled to do this. This is not good. This is not acceptable.”

“Your entire fortune was illegally obtained,” Fernsby said. “All your wealth accumulated by activities such as drug or weapon trafficking, prostitution, blackmail, and theft. Not only that, but you used this money mostly for criminal purposes, such as terrorism. We were right to freeze your assets in Europe, and we’ll work around the clock to make sure you lose whatever you have left, and not only that, but we won’t stop until you are imprisoned by the Hague for crimes against humanity.”

Kashala stared at him, with cold eyes and a tight mouth. Then, quite unexpectedly, he burst out laughing again. “You have to stop this, Mr. Fernsby! You are too good. You should have been a comedian, not a thieving, corrupt Western pig politician. You missed your true calling in life.
