THIRTY-TWO
I fucking love Mr Yerbury!
Iâve been over to his place a couple of times since he made the offer to use that granny flat.
His editing kit is freaking amazing.
Iâve made so much progress on my project work, Iâll be caught up soon.
He just leaves me to it.
I even play my music through his cool speakers; it sounds incredible.
I managed to give Mum some money today.
She looked at me like Iâd stolen it.
I sold some old video games on eBay.
I was hoping to keep them, but I made twenty quid, so I had to do it.
I sold a pack of Yugioh cards to a kid on the lower school, too, that made another fiver.
Itâs not much, and I know itâs not enough, but Iâm doing what I can.
Iâm trying to eat fewer snacks.
My stomach rumbled in class today, but itâs worth it if it keeps the shopping bill down.
Something weird happened tonight though.
Usually, him or Yasmine give me a lift back home, but they said they had visitors tonight, so asked if I could catch the bus.
I was just packing up and switching off the lights when two people came into the living area.
I work in the bedroom, but thereâs just a Z-bed in there. I think Mr Yerbury sleeps in there when him and Yasmine have a row.
I didnât know what was going on, so I peeped round the door.
Fucking hell, Tilly and Jake were snogging on the sofa!
They were giggling, Iâm sure theyâd been drinking.
Nick and Yasmine must have had some of the sixth formers round to their place.
Iâd heard rumours about it, but Iâm not in with the in-crowd, so nobody would invite me anyway.
I donât care, I love having this place to myself.
I didnât know what to do when they came in, so I waited until theyâd gone and then sneaked out.
I like Tilly and Jake, or at least I did until Zach started spreading lies about me.
They arenât nasty like the others, but they might find the balls to stick up for me every once in a while.
Anyway, I didnât see anything, I think it was just a snog. Itâs not like they havenât been going out with each other for long enough.
Oh, I forgot to say.
Mr Yerbury says I can have a key for the annexe.
He says he trusts me to come and go and I canât come to any harm in there.
I could have hugged him when he told me.
Itâs like having my own place.
I forget all about my worries when Iâm in there.
Itâs like my little den, when I was a kid and Mum pulled a blanket over two chairs.
I know mine and Mumâs problems wonât go away, but it helps life feel a bit better when Iâm over at Nick and Yasmineâs.
