GAME 5

It's hard to keep the tears back.

I'm such a failure. I was the only girl in the entire game to orgasm. If that doesn't make me the most pathetic loser there is, I don't know what will.

And, of course, Darcy went on to win the game flawlessly, pulling ahead two to one.

Why the hell am I bothering to keep score? I'm disqualified. None of it matters.

I look out the window of the hotel, listening to the crowd in the Coliseum nearby. The tears come fast, and I throw my hands over my face, lying back in the bed. How could I be so stupid? Why do I have to be turned on by humiliation? I have such a stupid brain.

The click of the door sounds, the latch unlocking, and I scurry to sit up, wiping the tears from my face.

Daddy walks in, and I cast my face down, embarrassed on too many levels to count.

“Hey, daddy,” I say.

“Hey, babygirl.” His voice is warm and gentle, an invitation.

I look up at him. He's carrying a bag of food. “I got your favorite. Chinese.”

I smile, heading over to the small round table in the corner, barely large enough to sit two people, and slunk down into my seat. I feel cold, cornered as daddy lays out the take-out boxes.

Unable to stand the awkward silence, I break it. “I'm sorry, daddy. I shouldn't have done something like that. I didn't mean for it to go that way.”

He smiles gently. “I know.”

I can feel the tears come back to me, a wave of relief hitting me. “You do?”

He nods, setting my boxes in front of me. “Yes. You should've talked to me first before making a decision like that, even if it was for both of us. But I know you wouldn't have done something like that unless you thought it would help. I know you're not that type of person.”

I lunge around the table, throwing my arms around him. “Thank you!”

He chuckles, wrapping me up. “Hey, it's okay. It just took me a little too long to realize it.”

“No, it didn't. You had every right to be mad.”

He shrugs. “It's just unfortunate it didn't do much.”

I blush. “Did you see what happened?”

He gives me a side-long glance. “Yes.”

“Oh,” I throw my hands over my face, “I'm so embarrassed.”

“It happens. It was a long shot for you to make it in the first place. You can't let that get to your head.”

“I can't believe I let her—that she made me come.”

He pinches his lips before taking a large bite of his food.

“She cheated, daddy,” I say, remorseful about admitting it. Remorseful because it feels like it shouldn't have mattered if she did. I should've been stronger than that.

“How?”

“She snuck a vibrator in. She wanted to get revenge on me for screwing up the previous game.”

He shakes his head, his brow tight. “That fucking horrible—“ He sighs. “But it's not going to do much being angry about it.”

“I'm sorry I let you down, daddy.”

He stops his fork in midair, lowering it back down to the plate.
