The young, black man yelled hysterically when one of the cops lunged at him, knocking him off his feet, but with a strength the cop didn’t expect, the youth flung the officer off him, and as quick as a flash, had grabbed the service revolver from the holster.
“Back up!” the youth screamed, pointing the gun at the officer that was still armed. “Drop your gun!” He looked from one cop the other. I don’t wanna kill you.”
“Take it easy,” the cop on the ground pleaded. “Don’t do something you’ll end up regretting.”
“Shut up,” the boy yelled. “I’m not bullshitting. I’m not asking you again to drop your gun, man,”
“Relax, “I’m reaching for my belt,” the officer whispered, “so don’t shoot. Look, so you can see what I’m doing, so you’ll know I’m not trying anything funny. Look.”
It was too late when the young kid caught the movement out of the corner of his eye, and before he could react, the officer on the ground had yanked a small caliber weapon from inside his boot, and began firing wildly. The bullets struck the black boy everywhere, but it was the ‘lucky shot’ between the eyes that killed him.
“Are you okay?” the cop with the gun asked his partner.
The other cop, dazed, nodded mutely. “Yeah.”
“is-is he dead, you think?”
“Hell yeah, he’s dead. Now, let’s get out of here.”
“Better him than us, right?’
