Nelson launched the Skype for Business app on his desktop and immediately began a conversation thread with Deniz.
Nelson:Hey, we need to talk. Itâs urgent. Can you meet me across the street at Franklinâs Deli? At the table in the back? Now?
Deniz:Sure. Whatâs up?
Nelson:Letâs talk in private. Leaving now.
Deniz:On my way.
Franklinâs Deli had been in the same location since 1972. Since that time, not much had changed. On the front glass picture window, the dark red letters painted in a large block style had faded to the point that it read more like Frank⦠Deli than Franklinâs Deli. Inside, the tables were all wood, with wobbly legs that curved outward, supported by a round metal brace that circled the legs. The floor was tile, more than likely white originally but years of traffic had discolored it slightly, giving it a light yellow shade. In the front as you walk in, two large display cases showcased eighteen types of meat and twenty-four homemade side dishes. Although the display cases were old, they were kept spotless by kitchen and wait staff that had worked there for almost as long as Nelson had been alive.
The back table was in a rectangular nook off the side of the main eating area and appeared to be an afterthought in an architectural sense. Unless you walked over by the window, you might not know itâs there.
Nelson got there first and sat down. He looked at his watch and saw the time was 11:10 AM.
He heard the bell on the door and hoped it was Deniz.
Soon after hearing the bell, Deniz rounded the corner and walked up to the table.
âWhatâs up, Nelson?â
âDeniz, this is gonna sound crazy and I suppose it is,â Nelson said.
âWhat Nelson? What are you talking about?â Deniz asked.
âWeâre in danger,â Nelson said. âYou and me. And the bank. Weâve all been targeted in a Tweet by a terrorist group out of Iran.â
âWhat?â Deniz asked in a loud voice. âWhat do you mean targeted?â
âHang on now, Deniz... We have to be quiet about this. We donât want to start a panic, or make things any worse than they already are.â
âWhat panic?â Deniz asked. âWhat are you talking about, Nelson?â
âOkay. Look⦠I just left a meeting with John Hilliard and agents from NSA, CIA, and Homeland Security,â Nelson said as he pulled his phone from his back pocket and tapped the Twitter icon on his iPhone home screen.
After the Twitter app loaded, he typed in CLIP and then selected the @islamicprophecy Twitter feed.
âRight there,â Nelson said as he handed his phone to Deniz and pointed to the text in the middle of the screen.
âWhat is this?â Deniz said as he read the tweet.
Deniz slowly read the tweet and looked up at John with an expression of disbelief and confusion on his face.
âIs this for real, Nelson?â
âApparently so Deniz. According to the feds, these guys are the real deal. Theyâre basically just a bunch of terrorists⦠like 9/11 terrorists.â
âWhat do they want with us, Nelson? With Aurora?â Deniz asked.
