The U.S. Department of Agriculture found that a serving of cookies and crackers costs about 30 cents, but a serving of produce costs approximately 25 cents. Not only are fruits and vegetables cheaper than some of the less-healthy fare, but they are high in fiber and fill you up longer so you’re not always reaching for something else to eat.
