“Hey good morning!” A voice echoed from the back; it was Roxy. She patted Kyle’s shoulder. “Couldn’t you wait for me! I thought we would walk to school together every day!”

Kyle had already started for school, and he said, “But weren’t you the one who said that we can’t manifest “tardy behaviour”? Also, I thought you must be tired from last night and might not show up to school.”

“Hahaha very funny! Leave it apart, it was magical — don’t u think!?”

“What’s magical!”

“You and October,” she winked. “After you left, October seemed a bit off and sad.” Roxy smirked.

“Oh gosh! Can you please stop trying to match us? Anyway, you won’t believe this but last night I had a nightmare where you were dragging me into a random room where October was. You were forcefully asking me to make out with her! And you were saying that if I didn’t, you would put a needle right through my veins and fetch some blood and literally make red paint out of it! You were also going to chop off my fingers and use them as brushes for face painting.”

“Well, that’s not a bad idea actually. I always imagine how operational fingers would be if we make a brush out of it!” She giggled! “You two would totally make a cute couple and pop out some gorgeous babies!” Roxy pushed her elbow gently into his waist.

“By the way I haven’t seen Richard since that day? Is he alright? I never got to ask around? What does he do! And does he go to a different school cause I haven’t seen him in there…”

She twisted towards Kyle. “See the thing is that actually Richard is…”

Kyle saw her face getting a little awkward as she was embarrassed. “You can say anything to me!” Kyle added to gloss over the hesitation.

“He does have school but it’s a bit complicated.”

“Complicated? What do you mean by that!”

“He’s a drug addict which is clearly evident. He got kicked out of yellow mines high last year for bringing drugs to the school! According to him, a teacher asked him to bring drugs as his dealer was out of town ...so we tried other schools but no one was ready to accept a misbehaved kid! His reputation was really tainted. Eventually, dad went online and signed him up for distance school which helps students who are in remote areas or don’t have many resources to support their education.”

“Damn....that’s a biggie. It must have been hard for him!”

“In the beginning, he felt a little sorry for us as he saw us struggling! Dad had him in rehab but he fell even harder and ran off from there twice! So, we decided to have him with us! Gradually he got better because he is stoned half the time so he doesn’t understand the concept of pain that much. And can you please do me a favour? Never ask him or tell him that I told you about this! He freaks out.”

“Yeah sure.” He placed both his hands over hers.
