Chapter 8: Two Wives In One

After breakfast, Kelly gave us each a wife’s kiss of the kind given to husbands on Valentine’s Day or anniversaries. She also showed no favoritism, Martin’s kiss being as lovingly soulful and meaningful as the one I received. She then left us to have her nap.

Martin helped tidy up the garage, a once-yearly task really needing a more regular schedule. I wasn’t a tool-guy or shed-guy and tended to toss things into the garage from the door rather than go in and set them properly on shelves. I registered Martin disapproving look when I took him in but did appreciate his help, despite his silent editorializing. It would have taken me the whole morning otherwise. We were done in a half hour.
