Stay Hydrated
This is not only important but it’s a good hack during cravings. I keep a big jug of water on my counter and my goal is to have it finished by the end of the day (not drinking too far into the evening, or I’ll have to pee in the middle of the night). When I go into the kitchen, this water is the first thing I see, which reminds me to drink. Staying hydrated this way helps me drink less coffee, stay satiated, and feel well.
Eat Fatty Cuts of Meat
I can’t emphasize this enough. One of the easiest ways to transition into a carnivore diet is being sure to eat enough fat. It can take getting used to for some people, and for others it’s a joy (it was a joy for me). The fat has nutrition and adds to satiety. I think it plays a big role in helping keep cravings at bay, too.
This means I gladly eat the skin on chicken, I happily embrace the fat on pork, and I choose fatty beef or add fat to it. For example, I opt for ground beef that is 20% fat. If I can’t find that, I buy the highest fat content I can find, and I add fat to the meal via butter, ghee, lard, and/or cheese.
Another tiny little hack I have for eating fatty ground beef is I bake my ground beef in something that saves all the fat and juices that cook out (a baking tray or a baking dish). Then, I serve my ground beef in a bowl, I pour the juices and fat over the ground beef, and I eat it with a spoon. This ensures I get lots of juicy fat with each bite.
