So far, The Equinox party was a big disappointment to Derek. It was as tame as an elegant wedding, except worse, there were only men present at the moment. The manicured side lawn was filled with giant and very elaborate tents. Most of the tents contained copious amounts of food and alcohol, and drugs were present everywhere too. Derek had learned the hard way to stay out of the smaller tents, which were currently occupied by drunken men fucking each other.

There would be no opportunity to find Elise as long as the men and women were separated. He hoped Julia was having better luck. He amused himself for over two hours, casually grazing at the food and trying to keep a look out for Jackson, Ethan or anyone else he might know. Finally, after Derek had imbibed a few drinks out of sheer boredom, the crowd seemed to be exiting toward the back of the grounds. The sun was already dropping from the sky, leaving dark shadows everywhere. Derek followed the crowd through the arched arbor and emerged in back of the enormous estate.

What he saw took his breath away. Acres and acres of the pristine back lawn were lit up as bright as day with huge spotlights. Huge architectural columns were the backdrop for an elaborate stage. Rows of stadium like seating were embedded in the gently sloping hill. A post and lintel structure sat squarely on the stage making the whole thing look like an ancient Greek amphitheater. Torches blazing with fire surrounded the entire back lawn.

The only thing that looked out of place was the gigantic jumbo-tron screen mounted on two columns located on the far right of the entire circular theatre. Derek followed the rowdy men and found a seat several rows back from the front. It probably took over 30 minutes for everyone who could still walk to be seated. Finally, the theatre went dark, leaving only the burning torches to illuminate the night.

The crowd cheered as a blinding spotlight switched on in the center of the magnificent stage, shining directly on a tiny masked woman dressed in a white skimpy costume. While dramatic music blared from the carefully hidden speakers, the woman methodically stripped off her costume.

As more clothes fell to the floor, the crowd became more rowdy. Derek, probably the most sober man at the party, thought the performance looked rather mechanical, but no one else seemed to mind. Over the next hour, several more women graced the stage, some visibly nervous and some scandalously lewd. It didn't seem to matter; the crowd reacted positively to each.

Derek fought a yawn. He had seen more provocative strippers at his sleazy local club than here tonight.
