“Can we help you?” Fiona said coldly. Even though she had not spoken to Aaliyah or anything like that, she already did not like her from how she had treated Josie. Fiona was overprotective over Josie.

“Yes, you could actually,” Aaliyah replied. “Keep the ugly duckling away from the sheikh.” She looked at Josie. Josie's jaw dropped. In her head she called herself the ugly duckling, but it was different when someone else said it. It hurt so much more. She wanted to slap Aaliyah, but this was not the place.

“I know you're not referring to Josie.” Fiona's voice had turned hoarse.

“Oh, its name is Josie?”

“How old are you? 40?” Fiona said. Aaliyah opened her mouth to speak, but Fiona interjected. “Act your age. Do not come here with your childish behavior and name-calling. The only ugly duckling I see here is you. So if you don't mind, please waddle away with your disgusting attitude.”

“Ladies,” Tariq interrupted. Amir was with him but looked like he wanted to see the situation play out on its own. “If I may borrow Miss Pierce,” Tariq added and walked off with Josie.

Amir stepped in. “Come with me, my habibty,” he said to Fiona and walked off with her. Fiona was angry at Aaliyah for disrespecting them, but when she heard Amir call her habibty, which was an Arabic word for calling a woman “my love,” she calmed down. Amir and Fiona left Aaliyah standing by herself.
