At first when I found out I was pregnant, I went a little crazy with the usual thoughts about what to do next and what my parents would do. Would they kick me out of the house or worse, force me to get married to some jerk. But I was old enough to do what I wanted. I decided if I had a job, I could call the shots about my own life. And that meant I would have to drop out of school without my high school diploma. But if I could get a job, I wouldn’t need a diploma anymore, I figured.

As I was wondering what to do and getting my week old school uniforms ready for the wash, a small business card fell out of one of the skirts’ pockets. I picked it up and had a look. It had two words written on it. Sleep Well. What the hell did that mean? I turned the card over and at the back, on the bottom half, was an address and number. I remembered that I was wearing this skirt on the first day of my crazy adventures by train. It was that old guy who started it all for me, the guy who got me off with his talented fingers alone. This was his card and what did ‘Sleep Well’ mean. I picked up the phone and dialed in the number. It rang for a while and then a woman answered. I wasn’t sure what to say so I just asked where I had called.

“This is the Sleep Well Health Clinic. How can I help you?” She said in a bored tone.

“Oh, um… I was given this card by a… a man… I’m no too sure why?” I said, flipping the card between my fingers.

“How old are you?” She asked brusquely.

“Er… I’m eighteen. Why?” I asked, a bit apprehensively.

“Would you like a job?” She sounded suddenly very accommodating. “We’re always in need of young women.”

“Er, actually, yeah… I could use a job right now.” I tried to sound excited. “What kind of job are you offering?”

“We’re a wellness clinic.” She explained with enthusiasm. “We cater to a large number of male clients and we need female staff to help them feel good about themselves, if you understand what I mean.”

“I understand quite well.” I said, with a soft laugh. “And I am interested. What’s the pay?”

“The pay is good, based on the number of hours and client satisfaction.” She replied, almost happily. “When can you come down?”

“I’m on my way now.” I said and hung up.

When I walked into the little building that said Sleep Well on its front door, I didn’t know what to expect. The inside looked like any other place, with offices and cubicles all around. It appeared kind of boring and I considered leaving.

“Hello, may I help you?” The voice I heard on the phone addressed me suddenly.

I turned around to face the short little woman staring up at me with a questioning look on her face.
