When Dad announced his intention to marry his longtime girlfriend, part of me was thrilled that he'd have someone special in his life again. Another part of me dreaded the fact that there would be another woman who wanted to be known as "Mom." One mom was more than enough for me, thank you very much.

Unfortunately, my plans of conquest didn't unfold as smoothly as I hoped. Almost two years elapsed, and my sexy stepbrother and I shared nothing between us but a few cordial greetings.

It didn't help that Brandon was a few years older than me and attended college on the other side of the country. I was lucky if I saw him when he came home on the occasional school holiday.
