Graham was going to die. Nothing could be done to stop it. He was inside the military facility, but it wasn’t safe the way they’d all thought. It was a trap. The Nall had tricked them, had led them there and the evil thing, the commander of the Alasharians who had tortured him, was going to set the inside of the facility on fire.

We’ll all burn.

For some reason, his mother, father and Paul were there too—they hadn’t been murdered yet. The Nall’s s ickening voice echoed in his mind, boasting that he’d brought them back to life so that he could kill them all over again, to see how long he could make Graham suffer before he ended his life too.

Then the scene switched and he was back at the Nall’s home where he’d been forced to endure the insane leader’s sick and perverse games. Balor and Oman fell at the Nall’s feet, their bodies bloodied, their limbs broken. The Nall grabbed Balor by his long clumps of hair and yanked his head up as Balor cried out in pain.

Graham screamed, “No! Don’t hurt him. Don’t hurt my Nasha!”

The Nall l aughed, whipping his knife from his belt, slitting Balor’s throat open in one swift slice then releasing him, Balor’s lifeless body falling to the floor in a heap. Blood poured from his neck in an ever-widening pool and Oman let out an agonizing cry as he reached for their Nasha. The Nall roared with more laughter, hacking away at Oman who was unable to defend himself from the vicious onslaught, his arms broken beyond use.

Why don’t I help them? Why am I just standing here?

The Nall pierced him with his dark stare. ‘Because I destroyed you. You’ve denied your mates and now you’re mine. The soul match is only for those who are strong and you are weak. You’re nothing.’

The Nall gazed down at Oman who writhed on the floor in excruciating pain. He raised his blade high in what Graham knew would be a death blow. Graham shrieked, ‘no!’ right as the Nall plunged the knife to the hilt in Oman’s chest.
