Chapter 11

I was watching Julie get herself together after an exhaustive bout of sex. She was still naked as she stood in front of her dresser considering what to wear. Her dresser had a mirror on it, which meant that from our bed I had a view of both the front and the rear of my wife at the same time. And my biggest dilemma these days was which side I wanted to look at first.

The sex was frequent and satisfying lately, and if either of us tried to play the ‘too tired’ card lately it was usually me. But it was as honest an excuse as any I could offer. She was insatiable since we had made new friends, and it was no secret why. But it was something we seldom talked about now that our marriage was back on track.

My mind started to wander as I lay back on our bed. I was staring at the ceiling, and then my eyes drifted to the molding along the wall. William was a lot of things, but he wasn’t a professional carpenter. He had done the crown molding on this side of the room, and as I looked at it I noticed he screwed up the angle of one of his cuts. I squinted to take a closer look just as a clean pair of briefs landed on my chest.

“What the hell?” I asked Julie.

I glanced up and saw that she had already put on an evening dress and was modeling it for herself in the mirror. I noticed there was a pair of elbow length white gloves folded on the dresser top.

“You need to get ready” she told me without turning around, and I glanced at the clock on our nightstand. “We are supposed to be at William and Kate’s by seven o’clock and I don’t want to be late. There’s a new couple in town that she invited, and I’m dying to meet them.”
