Something indescribable shifted tonight in my relationship with Emmy. Being with her friends was fun, and it helped me get to know her on another level, but it’s not just that. She seems different now, like she’s looking at me through fresh eyes.

When we arrive back at her apartment, she offers to let me use the bathroom first, indicating that she wants to take a shower to get rid of the grilled pepper and onion smell lingering on her from the restaurant before going to bed.

As I move to take her up on the offer, I could swear I hear her say something about me joining her in the shower. I freeze and ask her to repeat what she said.

She gives me an innocent, wide-eyed look. “I said don’t take an hour.”

Once in the bathroom, I lean back on the closed door. I’m almost positive that she didn’t tell me not to take an hour in here, but I’m not certain if she actually mentioned us showering together. The mere idea of her making such a bold, wonderful suggestion has me growing firm in my shorts.

I turn the shower’s spray to icy cold, strip down, and get in. The frigid water does the trick for my aching cock, but it will only be a temporary fix if Emmy starts making racy suggestions. It’s already practically impossible to keep my ill-advised promise not to touch the irresistible woman this month. If she starts flirting and purposely tempting me, my barely contained desire for her is bound to break loose.

When I emerge from the bathroom, my eyes nearly pop out of their sockets at the sight of Emmy puttering around the apartment in just a T-shirt and panties. It’s all I can do to hold back from stalking over to her, bending her over the table, yanking the silky wisp of fabric down, and making her mine.

The woman is definitely up to something. If I’m not careful, my body is going to spontaneously combust from all of this pent-up sexual tension.

She brushes by me as she walks to the bathroom. I do my best to ignore the raging urge to run after her when she peeks out at me through the crack that she has left in the bathroom door.

It takes all of my willpower, but I manage to turn away. At the sound of the door quietly closing, a large puff of air releases from my lungs as I pick up my phone and attempt to distract myself from my raging hunger for her.

I climb into bed, hoping to be asleep by the time she comes out of the bathroom. Unfortunately, that plan doesn’t work. I’m acutely aware of her every movement around the apartment––even though she tries to be quiet.

When the other side of the bed sinks down, I stare at the ceiling and try my best to think of anything except reaching out to her.

Emmy places her elbow on the barrier pillow between us and rests her head on her fingertips.
