CHAPTER THIRTEEN

I tingled everywhere. I heard everything. Every single nerve in my body was on alert. The distance from where we stood on the stone street and where we needed to be suddenly seemed impossibly huge. We walked fast, gripping each other’s hands. At first, we said nothing and then, as we drew nearer to our tiny street with the cafe, words tumbled from my mouth.

“I want you,” I said.

Madison moaned. “Soon.”

“No, I want you. I need you, all of you,” I said as I clutched her hand tighter.

“Shhh,” she said and pressed my hand to her lips.

We bolted toward our little door with the black number 10. She fit the key into the lock and opened it. We must have floated up the four flights of stairs because suddenly we were in our one-bedroom bachelor pad. For one brief second we paused at the edge of the abyss, and then the next, we took our breaths and jumped.

Her hands slid up my shirt. My hands pulled at the waist of her capris. The narrow, marble tiled hallway echoed with our ragged breath as we ripped and pulled clothing from our bodies. When our skin came together there wasn’t a sliver of space left between us and it suddenly felt like we’d dipped into a molten hot pool.

I ran my hands through her hair. She cupped my ass and lifted me. I planted kisses over her chin and neck while she pushed my back against the door. I looked down, at our breasts, our nipples and the goosebumps all over our skin.

“We’re actually going to do this,” I stammered. “I mean, it’s happening, right?”

“It’s happening alright.” She sounded so sure.

She grabbed my hand and walked me the two quick steps to the living room. Then she pushed me down onto the mattress on the floor. She brushed her hand up my leg and my skin instantly prickled.

“I mean, whoa, right? Do you think anyone from school would’ve thought that one day Madison Blake and Brianna Valente would be in bed together?”

She shook her head, “I doubt it,” and bent down to kiss my knee.

Her lips instantly sent a shiver somewhere higher. “Oh!” I gasped and tried to steady my breath.

She grinned and kissed the other knee, but this time, she opened her lips more. Her tongue flicked lightly up my skin.

“Oh, God!” I said. That one had sent a shock wave directly to my nipples and they both popped out to see what was going on. I leaned back against the wall as Madison eyed me like a hungry wolf. She ran her fingers up my leg and gripped the back of my knee.

“Are you going to do...that?” I asked only because I wanted her to say yes.

She leaned forward and kissed my thigh a little higher. I could feel her nipples brush against my shins. “I am,” she said simply and slid her tongue higher.

An involuntary breath sucked between my teeth. “And am I going to have to do that to you?” I asked.
