"You actually threw it away. I picked it out of the trash and kept it for you. I only just recently found it when I was going through my school things cleaning out Mom's house. When you mentioned coming here on your birthday I thought it would be fitting." Cat's voice was light. Almost breathy.

Gael took a gulp. "Thank you," he whispered as he leaned toward Cat and kissed him softly on the cheek.

"You should read it. Here and now, and read it loud," Cat said as he smiled and his voice took on a sound of importance. Gael stared for a moment into Cat's eyes. Yes, it was sentimental.

"So this is that scene," Gael smiled as he looked back to the paper that was being tugged in his fingers by the breeze.

"I'll play the part," he said, and then he began to read:

"The taste and smell of memory (breathe deep and speak)...."

He read it loud as Cat had told him to. His voice never quavered. It was at the end that the great scene finally unearthed him. He began to sob as he imagined he would. In those sobs, in the reading, in between and all about that 127
