I watched Sage rush from the bar.

What the hell was happening? And what the hell was wrong with me?

The evening had started with nerves and stress, but I had high hopes the soft opening would go well. When Sage burst in the back door, I let my nerves get the best of me and I snapped at him.

I felt bad about jumping all over him. He was smart and grown, he could decide to stop studying. I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did.

But holy mother of God, I really shouldn’t have let myself somehow end up so close to him that I could whisper in his ear how damn hot he was.

I ran a hand over my face and stalked to the restroom. I needed to get control of my damn cock and calm down.

By the time I no longer sported a traitorous bulge, I found my brother and cousin finishing the last of the cleanup. “What the hell do you two think you’re doing?”

The fuckers had the audacity to look at me with blank, innocent faces.

“Stop pushing Sage on me.” I threw an arm toward the ceiling as if pointing to Sage. “And stop pushing me on him. We aren’t a match. There’s too much difference between us. We’ve had this conversation. Knock it off.” I crossed my arms over my chest.

“Just having some fun with friends. If you’re feeling something towards Sage, that’s your deal.” Benji shrugged and turned off the lights behind the bar.

“I don’t know, Bo. You keep protesting, but I see the way you two look at each other. I saw whatever the hell that was in the back room. I saw how you looked like you wanted to devour him on the dance floor. Maybe you’re pushing away something amazing.” Kyson placed a hand on my shoulder.

I took a deep breath and prayed for patience. “I’ve never said the kid wasn’t attractive. Of course, I’m going to react to him when you two have us sandwiched together in a bump and grind. But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s too young, he’s a renter, and he works for us. It’s too much.”

Benji and Kyson stared at me for a moment and then shrugged.

We tramped up the stairs. Benji and Kyson immediately retreated to their rooms.

I headed toward mine, but I was drawn to Sage’s door like a magnet. I should apologize for all the inappropriateness of the night. I should make sure he understood there couldn’t be anything between us.

Or do you just want to see him? Have an excuse to be in his room, close to him?

I knocked softly. “Sage, you awake?”

When I got no answer, I went to my room and stripped off my clothes. I needed a shower and sleep. I had a grand opening to prepare for.

Walking into the bathroom I shared with Sage, I was assaulted with the scent of his soap and shampoo. My dick immediately hardened and I groaned. I turned on the water, climbed into the stall, and vigorously washed my hair in hopes of losing my erection.
