ASSIGNMENT: Extended Metaphor Poem.
The world makes sense
through my camera lens.
Because film doesn’t lie
like people do.
The Tank
Shows what is.
Frames my vision.
Makes me focus.
Helps me see
reel life.
Truths exposed in black and white.
Where even shades of gray are clear.
And in my solitary darkness,
understanding slowly develops.
But I’ll never know why
optimists claim to know
“the big picture.”
