Back at Olive's house, Nina's grip on her phone tightened as she exchanged a brief look with Daniel and Olive. Vaughn's unexpected call had thrown them a curveball, but she was prepared.

Taking a deep breath, she replied, her tone measured, "Vaughn, I can talk. But let's make it somewhere public, neutral ground. How about the park by the lake?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and then Vaughn's voice came through, "That works. I'll meet you there in thirty minutes."

Nina ended the call and looked at Olive and Daniel. The pressure in the room was deep, combined with a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty. "He agreed to meet at the park by the lake," she informed them.

Orlando leaned in, his expression serious. "Are you sure about this? It might not be safe."

Daniel nodded, his voice steady. "I have my law enforcement contacts on speed dial. We won't put Nina in harm's way."

Nina felt a rush of conflicting emotions. Fear gnawed at the edges of her resolve, but a determination burned even brighter within her. She knew that this meeting could be a critical moment in their search for the truth, a step closer to unraveling the mystery behind Amanda's disappearance and the unsettling secrets that had come to light.

As the time ticked away, the group gathered what they needed and headed to the park. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the quiet landscape. The park seemed to hold its breath in the stillness of the night, and the dark waters of the lake reflected the mystery that unfolded before them.

They settled in a discreet spot, a safe distance away from the potential meeting point. Olive's heart raced, her fingers fidgeting with a mix of anticipation and nervous energy. Orlando's stance was defensive, his eyes narrowed as he sized up Vaughn. The two men stood there, locked in a silent exchange, before Vaughn broke the ice. "Orlando, I need you to know that I'm not involved in any of this. I've been under scrutiny by the police, but I have nothing to hide."

Orlando's gaze held a mixture of skepticism and wariness.
