“Um, that story turned you on?” His tone didn’t sound like he was a fan of that idea and was ready to yell at me.

“Nope, but I thought of a way to show you how different this really is,” I answered with a chuckle. I got down right in front of him on my hands and knees, presenting my ass to him like an offering. “Remember I said I never bottomed?”

“Horse, you don’t have to do this,” he replied, his voice growing husky with need. He ran his fingers over the crack of my ass and I shivered.

“Have to? No. Want to? Oh yeah,” I said and then moaned as he rubbed his fingers over my hole. “I’ve never bottomed for anyone before, Bren. Ever. I like to be in charge, and I’ve never wanted to before. I want to now even before you told me what happened to you. I wanted it before you left the other day. I want to feel you inside of me.”

“Okay,” he breathed and stood. I gazed at him over my shoulder as he got undressed. “I’m feeling kinda raw after confessing all of that, and I’m not sure how good I can make your first time. Hell, I’m not sure how long I can hold off once I’m in you knowing I’ll be the only one ever to take you.”

“How about I get myself ready for you this time so you don’t have to worry and we can just enjoy it?”

“You’d do that for me?” He froze in midmotion to step out of his pants and boxer briefs. “I’m supposed to be concerned and making your first time good for you, Horse.”

“You are concerned, and you will make it good. I’m just talking about taking the pressure off a little. If I use my magic to get me ready, you won’t have to worry about hurting me. I’ll be stretched exactly how I need to take you.”

“Please don’t break my heart,” Bren whimpered. Yeah, that was so not the reaction I’d expected. I rolled to my feet and moved to stand in front of him. He must have seen the question on my face. “No one’s ever been so worried about me and my needs. I’m going to fall for you, and if you hurt me or leave me, it might kill me.”

“I can’t leave you or cheat on you once we mate, Bren,” I said firmly but gently as I ran my hands up his naked chest. “For elves, once we mate, that’s it. If I ever did cheat on you, I would die. I mean that literally. It’s a sacred bond, and if we break it, the gods or whoever gives us our magic takes it away and it kills us. You would be free of the bond and keep the immortality us mating gave you, but I would die.”

“So can—” He stopped when I held up a hand. I had a feeling I knew what he was going to say, and I didn’t want to tell him no, that I wouldn’t claim him yet.
