Over the next three days I went back and forth between New York and Clay’s Long Island estate. His car picked me up early and brought me back late each time. And every time Clay was not present at his own house.

It was enraging.

During those three days Luca called me inviting me to dinner every night. However I was so exhausted from work that I could never accept. I did promise to make weekend plans with him for dinner at least. I’m sure he knew that Clay was the one keeping me busy, after all he was my boss and Luca knew that.

Finally Friday came and I was working with Max wrapping things up for the day.

“Have any weekend plans?” he asked.

“Actually yes. I’m doing a spa day at the Citizen Hotel tomorrow followed by dinner in the penthouse.” I said it loudly so that if Clay was somewhere in the house he would have heard me.
