The world below was a patchwork of light green fields, stretching out as far as the eye could see. Heavy clouds brooded in the west, but directly beneath, the earth was bathed in clear sunlight. Lidar pressed his forehead against the cool airplane window, his eyes tracing a long and slender motorway winding its way north into Luxembourg. A prickly sensation, like that of static electricity, made the hairs on his arms stand on end. The thrill of the chase was palpable. He was getting close. If everything went as planned, he was just a couple of hours behind Gatlin and his team. A stroke of luck, and they'd be neck and neck. Lidar's next move? Pitching Paramount against the Watchers. Having them tear into each other would do most of the heavy lifting for him. It was always challenging to dismantle secret organizations, but if they were preoccupied with one another, vulnerabilities would emerge. And when they did, he'd be ready, waiting in the wings, poised to strike.

A voice crackled over the plane's PA system, jolting him from his reverie. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We've begun our descent into Luxembourg, and we anticipate touching down in less than twenty minutes. Please prepare for landing. Thank you."

Flight attendants in crisply tailored uniforms glided down the aisles, collecting any remaining refuse from passengers. The plane shuddered occasionally as it cut through turbulent pockets of air. After a gentle turn, the aircraft aligned with the runway, the landing gear making a thudding connection with the ground below.

Lidar inhaled deeply, a mix of excitement and anticipation. He murmured, more to himself than anyone else, "Alright, here we go."

Less than eight minutes later, Lidar, Micos, and Günther found themselves in the terminal. With purposeful strides, they made their way towards the exit, their eyes set on the parking area. Micos pointed to the far end, where rows of gleaming SUVs stood in perfect alignment.

"There."

Reaching the end of the vast garage, Lidar turned to Micos, eyebrows raised. "Which one?"

Micos gestured towards the furthest vehicle – a massive, jet-black Ford. "That one. The keys are in a holder by the front left wheel arch."

Without hesitation, Günther moved to the indicated spot, crouching down to inspect the area. Seconds later, a triumphant chuckle escaped him as he withdrew his hand, clutching a small black box. Flipping it open, he retrieved a key, his grin revealing a hint of mischief.

"There we have it."

Lidar gave a curt nod, his eyes scanning their surroundings. "Good, we don't have a second to waste. Günther, you're driving. Micos, double-check our arsenal. I need to update our client."

The trio swiftly boarded the imposing vehicle, the interior laden with technology. Günther roared the powerful engine to life, the low rumble echoing in the cavernous garage. Lidar slid into the back seat, his fingers deftly navigating to his phone. His most recent contacts glowed back at him, and with a quick tap, he selected the one at the very top. It took just two rings before the stern visage of Bertram Kelvin materialized on the screen.
