Willow sat at the lunch table with her friends. The gaping hole where Logan normally sat created a silence among everyone. They were all waiting to hear from him. She prayed the entire time. Honestly, she had been praying most of the night opting to declare his body to be healthy into the wee hours of the night. She was exhausted, but it'll all be worth it when she hears the Lord's verdict. Soon all their phones began pinging around the table including hers last.

"Yes!" Rowan hollered before she could even begin to reach for her phone.

"Really?" Amber squealed. Willow's heart seemed to fly fast enough to power her car. She pulled her phone out as her smile grew.

Logan: Lolo. God is good! Jesus has given me another chance! Cancer free! Amen. I'm so relieved.

Willow: Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! I was interceding most of the night and morning for you. I can hardly contain my joy! You deserve this. I can't wait to see what Jesus has in store for you. Now, where do we go to celebrate?

She saw the message with dots indicating he was typing. She was secretly excited to spend more time with him.

Logan: I think we need steak and a movie.

Was this an official date? She didn't think her heart could move any faster, but it managed to.

Willow: Sounds perfect! Tonight?

Logan: I'll pick you up at five.

"Why do you look so giddy over there? Amber asked. Willow waved her over. The rest of the table was talking, and Becca had excused herself to stop at the library for a book she ordered. Amber sat in Logan's spot, and Willow handed her her phone. Amber's eyes grew bigger as she scrolled. "Celebrate?"

"We talked about doing something regardless of the diagnosis."

"Yeah but it sounds like a date!" She looked at her friend and laughed, "I don't know how you did it, but everyone loves you. Even a grouch. Have fun. I'm happy about this." She waved between Willow and the phone.

"He's been so scared to get close. He deserves to feel loved and to be loved, you know?"

"Is that what this is Willow?"

"Oh, no! Not even close. Like I said I'm not sure he can even stand me. He's just being nice since I supported him." She waved it off blushing.

"Uh-huh. He's not getting steaks with us, just so you know." She stood up and patted Willow on the head.

Logan rarely dressed up, but the steakhouse was slightly classier than your typical restaurant. He put on khaki pants and a polo shirt. It had been a very long time since he was on a date, and it felt weird. He was nervous that she would treat him like she treated Carter. The friend zone was not where he saw himself. He rubbed his hands over his short hair trying to calm his nerves. He began letting his hair grow recently before his appointment hoping it showed his faith in a positive outcome.

"Just go slow. It's not a race. Just one date.
