Mindful Waking
A new day is theoretically full of potential. It is an opportunity to move toward personal and professional goals, and it offers a renewed chance to show up for yourself and loved ones with even more compassion and love. Yet all the newness falls by the wayside as you engage in the same jolting awake-snooze cycle until you finally give in to the call to action to get out of bed and begin the dayâs journey. This often primes you for anxiety, right upon waking in the morning.
Waking up more mindfully can help offset anxiety. Practicing this regularly will help you consciously start your day so that you are less vulnerable to stressors along the way that might otherwise overwhelm you. You are also likely to experience more efficient focus, greater productivity, and greater overall calmness throughout your day.
