Chapter 19

In the morning, Brett reached up to feel his hair and stifled a laugh as he felt the crunch. He got out of his bunk and started for the sink to wash his hair as best he could.

“Hey.”

He gazed up and saw Callahan on his side, watching him. “Hey.”

He went to the sink and started on getting some of the cum washed from his face and hair, and Callahan got off his bunk and stood to Brett’s side to relieve himself. When he was finished, he said, “Listen…last night. I didn’t exactly mean for that to happen.”

Brett took the towel from the shelf and felt his stomach drop. “Oh. So, it was just because I pissed you off?”

Callahan looked away, his smile blooming shyly. “I don’t mean it like that, Brett.”

The man usually called him Lincoln, or bitch, so this was welcomed. “What do you mean, then?”

Looking back at him, he started, “You went through a lot here. I didn’t mean to act like those pigs.”

Brett relaxed and assured, “It was nothing like that. The biggest difference was that I wanted it. I wanted you.”

Callahan brushed drops of water from Brett’s forehead and nodded. “Okay.”

Being sweet with him, Brett didn’t think he’d see that again, not when he wasn’t in fear or danger. “By the way, it was hot.”

“Shut up,” he laughed and pushed Brett playfully. “Move the fuck out of the way so I can wash up now.”

They must have both been smiling as they sat down to eat breakfast, and Summerfield stared from one to the other and back again. “Oh shit. They did it.”

Dougie brought his head up from his tray asked Summerfield, “Who did what?”

“Fuck you, Sly,” Callahan said, growling.

“What happened? I miss everything,” Dougie whined.

“They fucked,” Summerfield whispered to the tweaker.

Dougie sighed and went back to his food and mumbled, “That’s all?”

Brett couldn’t help but smile. “Mind your own business, Summerfield.”

“Oh, kid, you gotta tell me how much it hurt. I bunked with this moose. I saw the goods. Scared me to see that thing.”

Callahan teased, “Sly! You wanted my dick? All you had to do was ask.”

“You couldn’t handle this tight, virgin ass.”

Brett laughed and dug into his food, ready for the long day of working and working out, and hopefully, more of that dick Summerfield was admiring.

Back at the cell for count, Brett was still smiling. He couldn’t help it. Safer than he’d felt since he came to the prison, happy with this bunkmate, and sexually satisfied like he hadn’t been in a long time, if ever, it was the best day he’d had.

Back in the cell, Callahan sat with him on the bottom bunk, and Brett had to overcome his urge to lean his head over onto Callahan’s shoulder. “Listen, you know Spencer is on suspension for a few days at least, but so is Merchant. That’s good and bad right there. Merchant isn’t the only one I worry about, so be careful when you’re not with me.”

“I always do. When they caught me, it was because of the fight.
